The Early Years of HDTV

In the year 1970, HDTV was originated in Japan by the Japan broadcasting corporation. The Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) analytic group on HDTV was formed in 1977. The initial approval by the group was circulated in 1980 which comprises the definition of 1100-line scanning structure and wide screen format. -  Just because your earlier TV had your favorite sports channel doesn’t mean that your HDTV will have the same numbering for this channel. You may have to search much lower down the list to find the same channel.

- HDTV antenna is similar to regular or normal television antenna and you must hook them up to your set before you start off. If your HDTV set does not have in-built tuner, external tuner box can be installed.
